Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Excited for Market Based Culture

I’m excited about AT&T’s market based culture because the direction is clear. Dallas and RTO come first. This is where the company is building its future and employees need to decide whether they are coming with it or not.

If you are not willing to be in Dallas you should not expect to have the same seat at the table as the people who are. You cannot reject one of the company’s biggest priorities and still expect the organization to operate around you.

The same goes for performance. Tenure does not guarantee relevance. Resistance to change is not a strategy. Show up in Dallas and adopt the market based culture.

AT&T should build around the people willing to be where the company needs them. If Dallas is not for you there may simply not be a seat for you in the AT&T that is being built.

I'm excited about it too. 1. According to a study by VoucherCloud the average office worker works about 3 hours a day. So to stay market based, I have lowered my output to three hours a day. 2. I got a better deal for my wireless from another carrier last week, so I moved all my families numbers over. I now have zero ATT services. Follow the market

You’ll learn. Just wait until you get punched in the stomach by your betters a few times. Or that promotion you thought or told you’d get doesn’t come. Or you get no recognition (yet again) for saving the company millions of $$$ (fact) or no bonus to go with it. You’ll learn. We were all young and ambitious at one time. If you want to go to Dallas (Plano) go for it, I’m sure they’d welcome you with open arms. You are one re-org away from someone hitting reset on what career you think you have. When you get that new director or AVP or VP and you have to start from scratch again building your brand with the new boss only to have the same thing happen a year or two later. Seen it, lived it, as have most of us that have some tenure.

The only "Market" that matters is the Stock Market and "based" on T's stock performance, it's about 5 years past due for a course correction regarding the C suite.

Sorry but none of our leadership has actually defined what market based culture is Your post didn’t either. It’s a catch phrase that has no meaning.

OP
If you are “excited” over market based culture, I would suggest that you seek professional help. Perhaps there is a support group for people like you.

ChatGPT. Can you give me a post that says: "I'm part of the executive development team and have an MBA and want to be an AT&T executive? Success is just pulling yourself up by your bootstraps!"
