Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Derek to retire

It was announced that Derek will “retire.” I see a lot of people retiring (asked to leave). Thoughts?

Thank goodness DF will be gone.Terrible leader!!!! One of the worst I have worked under in my life. I do not high hopes for Scott but I don’t think he is an a$$ like DF is. He is Mr offshore and a major su-k up to CS. For Compliance SUMO has to go also absolutely the worst!!!

it's actually kind of hilarious they put the head of COO (Operations) in charge of IRM, someone with basically no risk mgmt experience! buckle up folks, probably some major changes coming, should be interesting!

Amazing news!! Mid-January can’t come quick enough. While it’s unclear what SP will bring, agree with other posters that at this point anyone would be a better leader than DF. Hopefully SP will be a leader who listens and cares about the employees. Not everything is a math problem, Derek. Hope you got forced out without a bonus, just like you cut ours last few years.

Derek's Year-end Performance Review:

  • Failed to produce any meaningful outcomes in 30 yrs at bank.
  • Repeateatedly alienated employees while failing to achieve objectives leading to mass defections and low morale.
  • Failed to design and execute key risk strategies causing Wells Fargo to fall further behind competitors.
  • Lacks credible leadership skills, communication skills, and risk management experience.
  • Failed to consistently meet RTO requirements and rarely worked a full 40 hr work week.
  • Failed to hire competent subordinates to execute risk programs leading to numerous executive terminations.
  • On the plus side, your leaving will have a significant positive impact on WF risk management. As with all senior executives, you are expendable, easily replaced, and AI will make your role redundant anyway.

Please enjoy your "retirement". Unfortunately, due to a tanking stock price, massive severence costs, and litigation expense, we cannot give you a good riddance, I mean, going away party.

As the meme goes,

Well...Bye.

not sad to see DF and his "productivity metrics" go

but am doubtful Powell will be better.

Couldn’t happen soon enough. If Scott wants to win back the people he can show a lot of good faith with one small gesture….bring back 3 days a week in office like the rest of the company!
