Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

FIS's AI advise

Massive layoffs among frontline technical staff while continuing to hire executives creates a dangerous imbalance that threatens long-term survival.

To stabilize and grow, the company must shift its focus away from adding costly executive overhead and instead prioritize reinvesting in developers and QA testers to keep products running, alongside a strong push to secure and retain clients. True recovery requires empowering the workforce that builds revenue, rather than adding layers of management.

@cw Actually, looking at Duet’s background, I think he is doing what he set out to do. Work with McKinsey and co, with whom he has a connection. Cut costs by moving employees to third-party companies of questionable ethics, doing more offshoring, and of course orchestrating the periodic layoffs. The question is, what’s next?

I've lost all confidence in executive management after the hiring of Don Duet and the utter disaster he's created over there; he's clearly out of his depth and obviously has never lead a company made up of acquisitions. The directives coming out of his office and his band of equally oblivious new executive hires he brought over are ignorant, nonsensical and show how out of touch he is with not just the current makeup of the company but the historical actions of the past; it would be laughable if I didn't still have friends working there.

@OP each new functional head then needs their own team burning up more "investment"

How many public relations muck a mucks are they hiring. Its not working. But that's the strategy. Don't give a sh*t about the service levels or product quality, just do more messaging

Never going to happen. Senior leadership IS NOT interested in developing and retaining front line staff. They assume that anyone can service their clients. I repeat, their clients, the ones who pay the bills. They don't care about that. The goal is to keep new clients coming in who do not know what is about to happen to their business.
