Thread regarding Omnissa layoffs

Quiet Quit

If you havent already please consider quiet quitting. People still take things seriously at this circus is laughable. It feels very similar to when Broadcom took over VMware, we had 2 years to spin out and now KKR is here to clean house. John Swaison has Broadcom ties and will start cutting very aggressively. The best we can do is sink the performance of the company so the suits up in wall street take a loss on this. Seriously guys, stop trying.

@OP I think a lot of people already are, not to sink the company but just because they have given up. The past two years were not good and there’s very little to look forward to. It’s all been so disappointing.

@ck Shankar was probably the blocker the whole time and not responding to the recommendations he was given. PE usually gives CEOs 2 years to execute a turnaround. His departure right now is right on schedule. He made fewer critical changes than would have helped the company so now the next CEO will probably be pretty heavy handed in the changes they make.

@cw "He has served on the Omnissa board since August 2025"

Click on his image https://www.omnissa.com/about-us/

Look at his history as a professional 'caretaker' at a series of failing companies. How can a man with his record offer anything beyond survival headcount cost-cutting experiences? That's why KKR chose him. Do the basic research before you comment.

@OP just f@ck off with stupid sh1t like this. The company employs human beings who have families and need to pay bills so crashing the company is probably the d-mbest thing anyone has said on this already d-mb forum. The people at the top are wealthy enough for that situation not to affect them. The other 3500+ of us would really suffer along with any families

Just leave and find some happiness somewhere else. It’s a wonder people with this sort of outlook find jobs let alone keep them.

It really is pathetic

@ck - Has JS only been a board director on Omnissa board since February 17 2026 (earlier this year)?

This Omnissa newsroom article indicates February 17, 2026 was when it was announced he was added to the board: https://www.omnissa.com/insights/news/Omnissa-announces-board-expansion/

“ today announced the appointments of Lynne Doherty and John Swainson to its board of directors”

Maybe only once he became a board director could he start the changes we’re now seeing.

Swainson has served on the Omnissa board since August 2025. If he has anything constructive to offer for our recovery he would have already demonstrated board leadership. Instead, Shankar was left to fumble along aimlessly for more than two years. I blame KKR for its selection of ineffective board members that did nothing worthwhile.

The JS experience most pertinent in this case is probably where he turned around CA (and “right-sized CA” depending on your pov) enough that it got attractive for acquisition.

Plus he has Silver Lake (PE) board member and leading software in Dell on his resume. Maybe after some “right-sizing”, it’s Silver Lake in our future.

Wasn't everyone already doing the bare minimum amount of work? In our team, we gave up caring about this company a long time ago. Just wait for your opportunity to exit this rapidly declining PE mistake.

@OP By all means: John was at Broadcom for 2 years, nearly two decades ago. Currently, he is in many boards for many PE interests and it seems, that Omnissas new home will be another PE. Makes sense, if you take in consideration how things evolved at Omnissa recently.

So, take your actions as you want to. I hope, that if you're quiet quitting and wait for the golden handshake, that you have a Plan B or C in Hand before doing so.
