@k0 you do realize that once the goal is cheap labor they will ship it offshore if they cannot find anyone onshore at that price of labor.
We hire offshore, see GCC in India. The plan is to convert 10,000 operations contractors in India to full time employees…in India.
We have tens of thousands of of Offshore employees and contractors , much cheaper than H1Bs

A federal district court vacated the $100,000 fee in June 2026; therefore, it is not currently in effect. USCIS has indicated they will comply with the court order, but anecdotally there have not been many cases that would have been subject to the fee actually adjudicated since the court order vacating the fee. Litigation is ongoing, and it remains to be seen if the $100,000 fee will be reinstated in the future.

The Trump administration increased the employer H1B fee to over $100,000 per hire. The solution for corporations is to stop hiring H1B workers and hire offshore instead. At least H1B's work in the U.S. and contribute to the economy. Yes, the number of H1B hires became excessive and corporations were abusing a program intended to invest in talent within our own borders. But, I preferred working with H1B hires over offshore contractors.
Am I looking at this right? USB only has 371 H1Bs? I could have SWORN there were at least 1000, looking at the directory under technology were 80% has an indian name it seems
Look I don't care what country you are from, what race you are. If this were Poland or Brazil, I will still be upset. As long as there are Americans who are looking for a job, there is NO EXCUSE to hire an h1b in a slot an American is qualified for. Too much "I only hire my own race" going on - they just wont admit it. It was wrong when white people do it, it's wrong if brown people do it too.
