Who here believes that they want us to build AI agents so that we can focus on “higher thinking” work and not so that they can cut jobs?

The Hage is so proud of his visit to Palantir! This is certainly excellent news that will help Truist meet and exceed new deposit goals!
@117 I'm using the new Meta Muse and it is helpful for things I enjoy and configured in a way to make managing some parts of my life efficient.
But I don't think this is something that is possible or even helpful while working at somewhere like Truist.
The reason being is that you know what you're doing and what you have to do during the day and majority of us are not in meetings answering a bunch of emails doing all this executive BS so I'm just not understanding why is it that leadership had this insane disconnect from the daily work that people do in the department that they manage and want to implement an agent to help out when the agent is not going to do much of anything to help out because quite frankly agents are limited and the way agents were currently is that you can prompt it to do something but it's always going to want confirmation from you to proceed with its own autonomy.
They really need to consider putting in leadership that are actually in tune with the work that gets done by the regular employees because quite frankly it's not that hard to figure out that building an agent would not be compatible with majority of the positions at the bank it's ridiculous.
And it's quite telling because I'm assuming they're going to be using a lot of that data from regular people building their own agents so that way they can take that information and roll out an agent that's used universally across Truist but at that point what is the point of even having that a team dedicated to this AI project that they've been working on if you have nothing to work on or no ideas to move forward with this initiative then why even have it at all it sounds like a waste of money.
@w7 just listening on a call that spent over 15 mins doing the push. Our manager actually said “you can use it to write your emails.” Ah, no. I can use my brain to do that. Thanks so much.
They want us to build an agent because they think AI will save poor executive leadership.
@bf all of exec leadership is pushing it, on all employees - it’s been going on for a while but has reallllllly ramped up lately (especially with Teammate Growth Month)
