Layoffs created uncertainty and chaos. Did not help the share price. Destroyed morale. Slowing down all projects, everything is crawling along. What is the point of layoffs? One incident will wipe out any savings from the layoffs and destroy the little credibility PayPal has

CEOs are politicians. They're great public speakers and bullsh1tters but in reality they have no creativity. Its always the same playbook: milk the company for tens/hundreds of millions of dollars in salary and stock, lay off people, buy back stocks, outsource jobs, acquire competitors, and restructure departments for the sake of restructuring departments. No real innovation, no strategy shift, no creativity. But don't worry, they'll publicly say "AI" every chance they can.

EL is solely responsible for this mess. He selected his team, he selected his strategy and he decided the layoffs and he should take the sole blame.
