@ja Centene currently uses Facets for Fidelis markets, but I have been told that we will be using it more than just in those markets in 2027.
Cognizant (aka TriZetto aka Erisco) uses Facets. Is Centene now using that instead of Amisys? If not, then make it make sense. Anyone working on their lines of business would have to be switched to Facets.
Bringing in Chris Neczypor to oversee complex institutional transitions and capital reallocations. Plus major hedge funds (including Point72 and Oakmark Select) have significantly accelerated their accumulation of Centene stock. These types of funds often pile in when they anticipate a corporate re-pricing, restructuring, or outright sale
Centene has simultaneously offloaded its infrastructure to an IT vendor, executed deep corporate buyouts/layoffs, and aggressively shedded non-core business segments (Magellan Health), it is effectively polishing its balance sheet for a potential buyer
@dd Cognizant is an IT services company, it can't/won't acquire Centene. Please make some sense.
110%
@a3 I agree with this, except for the fact that Centene just entered into a contract that will pay Cognizant $500 million to $1 billion over the next 5 years. This is public record, so my post should not disappear!!! IF Centene does decide to sell to Cognizant, expect for 80-90% US workforce to be let go. We are not the ideal employees for Cognizant.......we are too expensive and we ask too many questions. Again, public record.....research whistleblower lawsuits going all the way back to 2018 against Cognizant. The DOJ would probably block the sale.
Yes, but by LOB. I do not see Humana or United/Optum buying because they are both in the hot seat for upcoding diagnoses and overpayments to CMS. Aetna or even Molina Healthcare (🤮) could buy a LOB or two.
Maybe. Yes. The company is too big to buy in total. Need to segment the business units cleanly so those that want just one lob can bid on that piece.
normally I’d say such a deal wouldn’t be allowed as too much of a monopoly. but the law means nothing in this administration so it wouldn’t surprise me.
Short answer: yes.
What happens if we get bought out?
@a4 Centene’s greed is doing the heavy lifting for future Government run healthcare. It’s poetic and beautiful.
I do have a sneaking suspicion that they may be punting all work to agentic A.I. so it wouldn’t be such shock when the next administration shuts down all for-profit insurance and cleanly switches over to a Single-Payer System.
I do honestly...Making the company as streamline as possible have a AI base that is functional and appeling to a "buyer". But I still think Cognizant will buy Centene when its all said and done...they tried years ago and it fell through....now they are in a better spot to own this place. And they own the new AI system that is being implamented to centene.
