my department leader is scared of pulse. she sends us pre and post pulse surveys no one is brave enough to fill out. she tries to act like a fun, happy leader. she promotes leaders who overdo social engagements.
everyone knows how fake she is.

Surveys are free money to the company doing the survey and kick backs to the people at VZ awarding the contract to the surveyor
@fs I am of the opinion that your opinion is opinionated and quite possibly correct, in my humble opinion, of course.
I am of the opinion that having fake culture is worse than no culture.
@bt Must be different depending on who the boss's boss is.
We collectively praise our manager while torching everyone above and we are all still here. But everyone above has been re-orged more times than I can remember, mostly in the last year. We never know who is above our manager from month to month. I don't think our manager does either.
unfortunately it is true. the only person who feels the pain of pulse surveys is who you directly report to. no matter what the question is. my boss is great and any problems i have are way above him. i just give good scores becuase i undertand how it works. giving my boss a new problem is not helping me in any way
Always amazed how every manager is afraid of pulse and tries to stack the deck with answer keys and misinformation like "Anything negative personality hurts me" or "We can tell who by the narrative" when questions clearly distinguish executive and senior from direct. They must really get threatened from above to clean up pulse by any means necessary.
Yet some people are still honest and nothing changes. Until now maybe?????
