@14q one of them was a dud - that dude has been driving telemetry / metering for 3 years now with no change to the product's reporting or stopping revenue leakage. I wasn't surprised he was let go. I personally was telling him that we are losing money at a few customer sites and he was unable to get the right people to fix the problem or provide a solution - just at my customers, we loose close to ~$1.5M per year.
The ole Halloween hatchet job. They do it every year. Expect at least another 5-8% of the workforce again as revenue continues to dry up

The good ole October layoffs is a long time Teradata annual tradition. This happens every year. In fact ever since SA stepped in, the tradition has extended to quarterly layoffs. Feb, July, October. A holiday break in Q4 where all the survivors do 10x the work they used to do, while management continues to plot to axe more heads the following year
I know of two very qualified extremely valuable PMs let go last week. I have no idea what the criteria is to select the victims. Whoever made these decisions is stunningly stupid. Average tenure in that group has got to be 10 months. Now it's 9. If the goal is to erase all tribal knowledge, congratulations!

May actually be producing more than inadequate by strangers admission, fine. Yet no body knows what is being sold. More than adequate hustle yet no result. SM, the senior manager, must be proud. For those who found this forum recently. Teradata is laying people off like a clock work, for years now. OP claims an oct. layoff is in the oven. Prepare now. Save few extra buck, see your doctors now, fill up prescription, ramp up job application, download paystub and any other personal and important documents when you still can. If you get hit, go be productive somewhere else. If you get to stay, do not pick up extra work.
@cf assuming you are one of the new hires - what have you sold ? how many deals have you helped close with your products ? Is there any demand for the products that you are working on?

Come on now, let's be fair...TD is up also $0.10 (yes, a dime) @ $29 and change, but does in fact have 'AI Factory', although that sounds like something that would be sold off the shelf at the mom-and-pop corner store.
