Young people also have a lot fewer instances of $1M cancer treatments that the company pays for. There's a reason over 40 years old is a protected class.

They need to be careful making statements like they want to hire a bunch of young people. If they do layoffs that include too many older people, statements like that can be used in legal proceedings.

@af they did publicly state after the more public layoff early this year they wanted "early career engineers". They want younger labor they can pay less than those who are higher up in pay brackets
What also struck me was that they're looking to 3x hiring young associates (leap / interns) . We already have space issues and calling out specifically that they're looking to hire young people sounded like age discrimination.
