So who pays that? Optimum inc? Next alt sarl? CSC Investments II? The Unsub topcoat?

Just trying to figure out who will ultimately weasel out of this through bankruptcy.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities announced a settlement with Optimum Communications (formerly Altice USA) over improper billing charges.

What happened: Optimum continued charging cable TV customers even after they canceled service between December 2018 and May 2023. The company failed to follow state rules requiring prorated final bills, meaning customers got charged for service they didn't have anymore.

What customers get:

• $37 refund per affected customer
• 6 months of free broadband service over a 2-year period through the company's low-income program (no income verification needed)

Going forward: Optimum must expand its low-income broadband program to all NJ customers and implement stricter reporting requirements to prevent future violations.

The settlement came after years of complaints from over 100 customers and legal action.
