Each team had budget (no surprise) but also a RSU reduction as a metric!

@a7 this has been the case for a long time though. The number of RSU's I've been able to hand out to my team has went down drastically from 10 years ago. Very senior engineers/managers will get them, but other than that you have to be getting above average performance reviews to be in with a chance.
I would expect RSU grants to not be awarded anymore, at least to non "superstars". In the past it was a way to keep good performers from jumping ship, especially when the job market was booming.
I'm sure VP's, directors and "architects" will still be awarded grants.
No. Part of the cut was save RSUs and not pay them out. So factor, salary. Age, RSUs and cut above a certian line. One could argue that its a bait and switch and borders unethical behavior. Fruad would be tough...but not out of the questions IMHO given the process they are using.
you mean the survivors will not be unscathed, there's a RSU haircut as a consolation prize?
