Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

To the HR community at major companies

Look at yourselves in the mirror. If you are actually real human beings, how do you look at your family after a day of destroying people's lives?
You are paid to run fake interviews, lie to honest applicants, and play with people's futures just to check a compliance box. Where is your guilt?

Where is your basic human morale? If you have even a shred of decency left inside you, stop being a coward. Stand up, refuse to do this dirty work, and expose this fraud. Change before you completely lose your humanity

The fake job posting and interview ghosting get to me. Just send an email telling me I was rejected. Don't give me false hope and waste everyone's time, including your own time.

@OP

HR and the Legal Department exist to protect the company, Never and NOT the employees.

They protect the company at any and all costs. They do NOT even protect the CEO much less the employees!

Along with your coworkers, HR and the Legal Department are NOT your friends, advocates or family/relatives.

HR and the Legal Department are the employees' enemies.

Employees have an adversarial relationship with them just like in a court room, one side versus the other side.

Both sides can be cordial and respectful towards each other, but Never cross the boundaries and Never forget the other side WILL Fvck You Over !

  • Misattributed Authority: Executive leadership and line managers make all hiring, firing, and budget decisions based on business performance; HR merely executes those directives administratively.
    • Compliance Over Malice: Sourcing processes, multi-stage interviews, and formal protocols exist strictly to satisfy legal compliance, standardize hiring, and protect the organization from liability.
    • Structural Reality: HR personnel operate within strict parameters set by corporate strategy and legal counsel; directing moral accountability at administrative staff misinterprets how corporate governance functions.

HR at Citi is no longer "personnel", they are a legal/compliance team. This developed over decades of lawsuits and DEI mandates. A shame when you really need someone, an advocate or have a stupid question. They were mostly cut back long ago, before us and I hope that lurking cooter.
