Oracle is an Indian company, but they don’t actively prefer Indians. They prefer people on VISA they can control, which just happens to be Indians.
The run of the mill playbook is, a manager will promise the world to you, for going above, and beyond. Treating you as a high value asset, especially if the work you are on directly impacts their visibility. The moment you fu-k up or check out, you will get a we-ponized letter of expectations. The bait is a promotion, support for VISA/greencard sponsorship.
The trade off? You will be doing work 1-3 levels above your paygrade, while still being expected to deliver at your current level, at a high throughput. You will be expected to join any sudden meeting on a moment’s notice. You can never take a small break to visit a coffee shop. You will get pinged at any time, any hour. Scheduled meetings are a suggestion, they will reschedule on a whim at anytime.
I highly recommend only joining for interesting work, then bailing out immediately. Or just simply, not joining at all.
The majority of the hires, I would never refer personally, not even at a downlevel. I’m not even sure how they passed the interviews. I’m sure my interview was many times more difficult than what they got.
