With the layoffs last week, I was surprised when I was in a staffing meeting and my program has 5 open reqs from level 3 to level 6 that we are interviewing for. We also have 3 offers out.
This is a fu---d up company

@142 yep I remember the same, it was a different department than mine. in my case I just got more work no promotion.
Ya the previous big layoff, I walked into the office the next day and 4 coworkers were promoted!!
@a2 BINGO apparently there are still enough distracted people to keep the status quo
@np They open new reqs not because of layoffs. The true reason is that many experienced engineers are fed up with the toxic culture and nasty managers. They left for good.
Hire to fire. Replace them with cheaper labor.
