I’ve (my whole team really) has been told again and again that there is a hiring freeze, but also if we want to move up at Nike, we would do best to seek positions outside of our current team or function. Yet, I know of more than one person who was either fired, or let go, but has been welcomed back to Nike with open arms and celebration.
Seems like goal setting and garbage Ted talks would have benefited us all more if they had been focused on how best to kiss butt and move up.

Applied for a lateral move, told I was overqualified 😂
This is actually the best time to try and get a lateral move if there are role openings as it's a lot easier for teams to get get someone when the wage cost for Nike overall doesn't increase like it would for an external hire.
You have to k!$$ @$$ to the "AI" leaders and put them on a pedestal, you will land a promotion if you are one of them. That is the Nike GT formula.
