Speaking from the perspective of H&C and EVS coordinators. The unsubstantiated rumors which have a weird way of coming true are suggesting the axe will fall in the pre and post service SNF providers. With the (awful) offshore team edging there way into avaible work and managers allegedly comprising their lists of low performers it seems the end for many is at hand. Any additional info 2nd or 1st hand is welcomed

@1e2 1. How do you know people are being ranked? 2. If your manager is telling iou things like that, she ought to be careful. If she's let go her severance could be affected. 3. What company ever lets information related to staffing changes or downsizing get out way ahead of any final decision. 4. What company would keep poor performers when such a huge portion of staff is going to be reduced? That would be id--tic. Employees don't have to be ranked.. managers and DCOs know who are good performers and who is struggling. 5. Business still has to be conducted or there will be less and less of it. It is a business after all.
@d3 this is a lie. We are being 100% ranked in some way. There are people that are awful at this job who clearly will be selected to go and people that ki-l it they will keep. If your DCO DID NOT tell you that, I’d be worried - but I’m more convinced you are one of the managers focused on the business and not peoples lives trying to “put out rumors”.
Glad you aren’t my manager and it’s why our company’s culture scores su-k because you and the others can’t be transparent. I heard about that DCO telling teams we were going to get new business and there were going to be over 100 new jobs between that and dc care coordinators - never coming back to follow up that none of that was true.
@da Humana is at least half of my department’s work. I hate them but I also dread the layoffs. From what I’ve seen over the last 4 years, Optum/UHC doesn’t need a reason other than the CEO wants a bigger bonus. I’ve already had two departments completely close and over half of our work already goes off shore and we aren’t allowed to touch it, even though it just sits there for days not being processed.
I was with Home and Community until this summer. I left, I've been with Optum off and on for over 13 years. There will be layoffs. Every team meeting since May they have been sharing resources and how to look at other opportunities. Leadership announced offshore team to take over all global authorization pending being trained. That with the Humana term pretty much guarantees less staff will be needed. My manager was pretty transparent about if layoffs occured they would look at performance period. To the people waiting for severance that is fine but the job market is tough and you will be competing with your coworkers for a role if you hang around.
@gf you can look up severance on spare. It was my understanding that if you were to be RIF'd and you choose the option to see if they (UHG) can find another role for you and they offer one at 90% pay that you must accept it.
I may not be understanding correctly though.
@dz Have meetings with my team every week… trust, they know
@ga is that policy? I've just not ever heard that. Good to know if it is.
Has anyone confirmed if we maintain our current pay rate by taking any of these job level 26 roles they keep sharing with us? Just curious if they are able to give us a pay cut since we would be dropping from job grade 27. I know if you ride it out through the cuts and they then offer you a job paying at least 90% you are required to take it or lose severance.
@dz nothing is known for certain yet. No rankings are even necessar. The CTMs meet regularly on 1:1s with the their DCOs. Just like the CTMs meet with the Ccs regularly. They know who's performing well and who is not. My understanding from the grapevine (for what it's worth), optum and uhc have Historically had layoffs in October after 3rd quarter earnings reports. I gor 1 am thankful for the job postings notifications. It shows the company is trying to retain employees to mitigate the rif.
@d3 If truly are a manager, let your colleagues know about all the speculations and have an all-staff meeting to let all the CCs know what is going on behind doors.
This is what we know so far: Humana contract loss, unsubstantiated declarations of new contracts with other health plans (I always take these with a grain of salt), sharing and highlighting of internal job postings. That’s it.
Let your constituents know that a site like this exists. Tons of rumors, tons of hearsay, etc. This is what happens when everyone has no clue as to what is going on. You want us to engage with patients on day 3, engage with us as well before we get laid off completely.
@bs you are the same person telling people to get off this site for irrelevant posts but you are making asteroid comments. you are a loser and lonely.
@d7 in a region with heavy Humana? Not in my region we are very uhc heavy
@d3 strange because rumor is meetings are occurring between CTM/Regional directors and discussing where metrics stand for the CC related to metrics within all CCs of the region. At least that is with 1 CTM within 1 region on recent 1:1 🤷♀️
I am a manager within h&cc - we were not told to make any list
@ax Enterprise Clinical Sercices, Home and Community, Skilled Nursing Facility
I also heard an asteroid is headed this way soon.
What are ECS, EVS, H&C, and SNF?
@OP ECS not EVS
