@hv and people wonder why moral is so bad. An under cover boss would be ashamed
Dude sounds like a real team player.
cyclical?...not this round. at this time last yr and previous yrs prior, we have gotten some hours back. this round?...nope amd even git cut more!...when was the last time u worked in a labor intensive dept, with no hours amd less help than the year before?....GUT IT OUT?...I have been for at least 3yrs, when this labor super crunch started...that "gut it out" comment...25yr loyal vet here....we are tired, at our wits end...and obviously no one cares about us at the store level
@OP it's cyclical. Seasonal. Gut it out. Help will come when sales return.
People have turned into metrics; a number; a measurement. The irony is that metrics are supposed to help organizations understand performance. But when the metric becomes more important than the person producing it, the organization can destroy the very performance it’s trying to measure.
Hy-Vee is hurting plain and simple. The number 1 controllable expense is labor hours. Keeping that in check and ratcheting down makes a lucrative deal to sell the company someday making stockholders extremely well off. They don’t care about us, the employees.
Unfortunately it's going around at every store. I am a overnight stock Manager myself and some nights it's a struggle to get done. I have begged my store management team to hire me another worker for 2 months and all i get is crickets or we don't have the money or labor to spare. It's really sad to see this company care more about the bottom line rather than the employees or customers. Employee owned my a-s!
