Working for people who 'know' better how GdS and airline tech is supposed to work, but have no industry experience is always depressing. They have no feel for what the customer needs, so are swayed by every reasonable sounding conversation, AI or meatbag.
It's hard to stay motivated when you're building the wrong things in the wrong way. The travel industry is not retail. The more they try and shove 'modern retailing' in, the more that is exposed.

The days before the spinoff from AA were so much better. We were still able to go back and forth, gaining skills while doing many varied things. Sabre on its own has been a disgrace with each CEO leaving their own mark of distinction in their wake.
@eg Your jealous that the Rif Raf is having to now cleanup after your Western ways and ran a good org into the ground.....

8-9 years ago sth. very delicate has changed. Reason got lost on the way. Key business folks were gone. Once again flee catching rush had broken a well working machine.
Then miracle and drama became the main theme. Pioneers - attempts to inject startup genes into corporate concrete - it dissolved faster than sugar in hot water. Frustrating majority of participants.
Then - lets do the same in bigger scale. Lets build a small - new Sabre from old but still flexible play-doh and new contracted one shaped as Wolverine.
This miracle pill lasted longer, but was remixed back into corporate a few years after. So called adaptation and agility was used for camouflaging the missed targets. Rebranded to Mosaic so it was easier to spread across the corporation once again.
Yet some failed concepts from that era survived and still threaten the company like Sabre2 with the mirage of savings and productivity - still blocked by poor implementation of monorepo. Now even less viaable due to github & github actions.
Luckily we have now changed the brand so we can forget some of the 'old stuff' and redo the same mistakes once again.
And please bear in mind - whenever you want short term cost optimisation loan - you offshore to India. And if you see any product, that now requires help from non low cost center - please move your sight into another direction. This is temporary.

It's been getting worse for about 26 years, since the AA spinoff.
It just passed through peoples' thresholds for acceptability more recently.
