I have done extensive research about the F200, the top 200 locations out of the 350 that Macy's is keeping open past 2029, or the 2028 fiscal year in which they have expanded the Bold New Chapter Plan until.

These are 183 stores confirmed to be part of the F200 list that Macy's is invested in. If anyone has any thoughts about stores that are omitted or some that need to be removed, let me know. If you work at one of these stores, but feel that sales have been slowing down a little, let me know also. (An employee told me about slow sales for the Pearland location that is supposedly F125). This is not some Macys corporate social experiment but I am actually researching so let me know any thoughts about this list.

All in all, the some stores in F125 may need to be in NN75, and vice versa, but these 180 or so stores all definitely part of the F200 list that they are invested in.

I have counted to be 183, tho I may be wrong.

WHAT STORE?
All these vague posts without mentioning a store is meaningless. Each store is evaluated on its own at the end of the year. There’s no decision on ALL dual box, or ALL Furniture galleries or ALL non-R200 doors.

There's several stores in Texas that are dual box store and in one location that stores will be consolidated in one store by mid October of this year. I'm wondering if the company will keep this location open beyond 2028 or 2029 fiscal year. This store is not on this list of stores post it on this list.

My store is the only NGF door in my district left, does that give us a hint we are closing by end of 2026 fiscal?

Our store is a dual box store and the company decided to consolidate in to one store this year. The company decided not to renew the contract with other store building ( home/kids store), and we are a keystone door store.

This company is always full of surprises. We'll see what happens on January 2027, January 2028 and January 2029.

Some have, some will, some won’t. All these decisions are made based on the particular door and are very closely held. We’ll see what happens in January. Anybody that says they know now, doesn’t know what they are talking about.

Just because a store is not R200 doesn’t mean it’s in trouble. It’s just not chosen, at this time, for addition $$$ or staffing. Perhaps it’s new enough and functioning at a level that doesn’t need to be “Reimagined”.

@1j7 gurnee mills no. 23 on the largest land size. i work here and it is a new store, opened in 2013 i believe. Very clean and my manager said we are doing well.

@1ah Also, are the IL stores on this list correct for R125?? I work at the Rockford location and we're not on the list. I wouldn't be surprised if we closed to be honest. Also gurnee mills surprises me. There's people from Rockford who go there... they also have a rainforest cafe still open and is a top 20 mall in land size from what i've heard. (Source: Another employee here used to live in Gurnee).

@1ah I am surprised Gurnee Mills is not an R200 door. I would say it is a top 50 mall in the country. That has to be incorrect; it is a Simon Mall and has over 200 stores and caters to people from Milwaukee and Chicago wanting to experience a retail haven; similar to Six Flag's. That is extremely shocking; definitely look into that more if you are a legit higher-up. That has to be an R200 door or F200 or whatever it is called.

Neither door is an R200. However, this does not mean they are closing anytime soon. Just, don’t be surprised.

I asked for stores, not cities. But, I did the work for you. Louis Joliet, The Promenade at Bolingbrook, and Fox Valley are all not R200. This does not necessarily mean they are closing.

I will once again ask you if Joliet, IL, Bolingbrook and Aurora IL are on the R200 if this list is inaccurate, even though where I used to live (Michigan) is accurate.

Of course I did. There is no set closing list. The list is finalized in late December and announced January Week 1. It will be 12-18ish stores. Some will be no surprise, but there’s alway a couple out of the blue. Anyone who says different doesn’t know what they are talking about.

Of course there’s a list. There are over 100 keystone doors. Stores are segmented by merchandising levels, Keystone being the lowest. There are R200 doors at every level. Stop getting so hung up on closing stores. There’s date certain list out there. Stores are evaluated every year. You will see 12-18 a year. Some predictable and some surprises.

What does that mean a "keystone" door store? There should be a list of "keystone" door stores. Is the company keeping those stores open after 2028 or 2029 fiscal year?

I think you mean “keystone” door. But, that just denotes the merchandising strategy for that store. There are R200 doors denoted as keystone doors. This does not indicate go-forward status.

Several of our colleagues ask what door are we and a sales manager told us that we are a key store. So that means that the company can close the store at anytime. We started asking because several of are colleagues saw the list of stores post it on this site. Our store is not on the list. I'm guessing we still have until 2028 or 2029 before the store closes.

Just because a store is not R200 does not mean it’s closing. There is no closing list. Closing stores will most likely be finalized in December and announced January wk1.

What about Tidewater stores in Virginia, like Patrick Henry, Greenbrier, Lynnhaven.

Which stores is closing in South Texas? One store just close in April and they got the notice on January. They were part of the 14 stores that close this year 2026.
