I know some people whose husbands and wives have to quit their existing jobs and follow the other to Dallas to rebuild their dreams, only to know the other person has lost their job in 1 year of move. I understand families have emergency fund for this situation, but what else did you do to rebuild, because if getting another job was so easy, they could have landed one in their hometown.

Moving at your own expense for a job that may be eliminated at any time is beyond stupid!
If they’re not paying your relocation fees to move, it tells you a whole lot. Some have gotten full relocation but probably over 90% are getting nothing. If they’re not investing in you, then it cost them nothing to get rid of you after you move.
You should rent an apartment in the new location with a co-worker. There may be “benefits” to that kind of arrangement.

I traveled for 18 months to keep my job. My boss told me numerous times you are safe blah blah blah. In the end the spineless useless person that he was and constant aloof, choose me instead of the 2 low performers and 1 who could retire. Never assume you are safe. I am glad I never moved my family. Don’t do it. ! Buy the time until you find a job first and To that ignorant manager I hope karma hits you in the face. Liar 🤥

I am no bootlicker or fan boy.
But this constant “I’m being forced to move” stuff here is tiresome. And not only that, but here we’re also talking about spouses being “forced to move”. No one is forced to move.
And I’d also recommend not volunteering to mo e, but hey that’s me…

There is too much uncertainty with AT&T to relocate. If you’re close to retirement and must relocate do it on a solo basis and rent an apartment!!
Never move for a job. Period.
