Right now I am so drained that even when I am off, I have nothing left for myself. Yes, my pay and benefits are better but at what cost? Not to mention, now I have a higher chance of being laid off instead of it being the other way around. This place is truly a joke.

Truth! My work is at work. Calls, texts, emails and anything else waits til i sit down at my desk the next work day. Maybe 2 weeks if i take a trip. Insane how many bs emails i come back to. Trash them and start over fresh before head out the door.

You don’t get paid for being on standby ? I’m in district 3 and we get paid for the week of standby whether we get an actual callout or not. You might want to double check your contract.
@bm C and E tech here, you don't have to work that much overtime to break 100k for the year!! I too am on the call out list but we don't get paid unless we actually decide to take the call out!
Also cores base pay is almost 100k per year and guess what when i put in my 8 hours I go home and couldnt give a flying F as to what happens when I am gone!
My truck, my office, entire center could blow up and I will still get paid until its all replaced!!
25 years plus I get almost 2 months vacation plus 2 weeks of sick leave so yeah you couldnt pay me enough to become management!!

@d6 years ago, I was on a call with a co worker. It was approaching 5 so I told her I wanted to wind down for the day and pick up the next morning. She told me she had been working -12 hour days. I ended the call. I’m still with the company. She got a follow the work letter and left.

Sorry, if you are working significantly more than 40 hours a week then you are doing it wrong. When Stank demanded that I come back into the office, the commute time became the additional hours over 40 I would work. When I get to 8 hours each day I shut down and leave the office. 8&Skate, it can wait.

L2 here. I worked over 1000 hrs extra last year, I tracked it. I got nothing for it. 1.6% raise. I made less than you did. Don’t let those folks on here lie and say every L2 is making $200k+, because that’s a lie. Most make less than $150 with bonus and our healthcare plans are terrible and cost way more. You guys actually make as much or more with OT.
However , when I punch out , I go home and I have zero worries.
Except you do standby and need to take the callout when you get called. F that.

It’s not the pay , it not the benefits. It’s that I have zero stress. I put in my time at work , I work hard , I get filthy , I go into rat and ro--h infested places half the time. However , when I punch out , I go home and I have zero worries. Most of the time I’m happy at work too. Peace and happiness and not worrying about anything is worth so much more than earning more money. You really can’t put a price on that. This company treats its own management the worst. You couldn’t pay me enough to deal with all the stress my first and second levels have to put up with. It’s kind of like the movie “office space “ at the end where the character finds happiness in a construction gig. “Effin A” as they say. That movie sums it all up so well.
Should of stayed a wire tech.
