Leader buzzword

Calling Fidelity managers “leaders” is the biggest insult to the term leader. There is a difference between a leader and a manager and i could probably count on one hand how many of the ~90k employees I would count as a true leader.

Give the term back to the universities that believe someone could lead.

whenever my old manager said leadership i would always intentionally call them management. don’t think he ever picked up on it but there was intention behind my word choices

Totally agree! In any other situation you would never listen to these fools!

Most are young and a complete joke when it comes to actual leadership & management skills. Fidelity is all about a scripted process which I think is good to offer some structure but it is also hindering "leaders" from seeing the trees through the forest. This is what separates the men from the boys, if you have some associates on your team that are exceeding KPI's, increasing revenues and bringing more funds into Fidelity those would not be the associates you would want to micromanage on insignificant details. These inexperienced "leaders" are not leaders they are mindless babysitters.
What I also find interesting is that the "leaders" have found a way to pawn off a lot of their responsibilities onto the associates by adding another requirement called leadership- what did you do for the team for leadership aka meaning what one of my tasks did you take on? From what I've seen is most of the leaders in the site I work in seem to have a lot of time to walk around, laugh and bs with other leaders.

So true. Just because you call yourself a leader doesnt make you one. Have these “leaders” try running their own command see how they do!
