Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Morale issues

most teams understaffed, then on top of that MLRP PIP and insulting feedback from those who know nothing about the subject matter every year, depressing campus environment, constant turning employees against eachother all for 1-2 % hikes, what is the point? who is actually doing any work? is any work needed? then constant quitting of people, constant hiring, no stability, manager changes ,role changes org changes , staffing process change, polaris change, this change that change — how are we all just pretending this is normal? where are the human leader voices?

Not sure if our ignorant Supervisors are intimidated or embarrassed by discussions that they do not technically understand. Still not a reason to give NSI.

@cv I received the same feedback about tailoring technical communication to the audience. I also am looking to leave. I used to work with experts but now I work with people who know nothing about oil and gas.

There is a Moral issue too.

I was given NSI with absolutely zero improvement suggestions except that I should water down my professional descriptive language when talking to my Supervisor and Manager because neither know our work and understand absolutely nothing I say. Let that sink in. I got NSI because nobody in our management can hold a conversation about our work.
So people that do not know our work are firing people that know our work, then replacing people that know the work with 1/10 salary people that do not know the work, but claim to know the work, hired by people that are unable to assess if those 1/10 salary people could even recognize our work. Glad I left. Good Luck.

Upper management does not get bonuses based on the morale of their employees.

They don’t care.

Just when you think it cannot be worse it is. Everyone is so disengaged and unhappy. Executives need to wake up and realize they are ki-ling productivity.

It's by design. They want us to leave on our own so that they can offshore & outsource without their needing to pay any retirement, severance or unemployment.

Seems morale through much of the company is quite terrible. Here at one of the sites that is closing, between Pips, layoffs of lab staff, and people abandoning ship...there is just so little to hold onto here. :(
