Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Get lean for thee not for Me

They have to cut at the bottom to keep creating new senior roles. Developers in my group get RIFd and more bloat gets added

'FIS is looking for a VP, Head of Program Management & Strategic Initiatives to join our Technology organization at FIS in Jacksonville, FL'.

'At FIS, we're looking for a VP of Technology Partnerships & Vendor Management'

@1cq it was the CFO that said it, not stephanie, but yes, the point is correct

James Kehoe, CFO, FIS: So obviously we’re not doing M&A next year

and yet, they are hiring more executives for it

@14y in the goldman presentation, stephanie said small technology acquisitions remain possible, but buybacks are the priority
then why is FIS hiring a VP M&A & Transformation now? this is listed at a salary of 180,000 – 320,000

@151 I agree! Why were some delivery and support roles moved to third party? After the contracts expire, then what? Let’s not ignore the whole demoralization aspect for those former FIS employees.

@14y people tied to SLAs and delivery can't be replaced but load on up with more powerpoint people!

The stock market sees how badly this company wastes money

@a3 more of the same, start/stop, swap out team members, delay production/delay deployment, big quarterly bonuses for senior leaders, lather, rinse, repeat.

@OP each new VP will build their own fiefdom su-king up money that needs to be spent on customer problems and actual innovation. What a waste

How infuriating
Leavers dont get replaced. Long-time colleagues get the axe

Tech leadership is going to topple over from all the weight

@OP Apparently Tanmoy got promoted after shoving a large number of employees to cognizant and zensar. Seriously, they need a VP for this?

It's amusing everyday watching management with their heads so far up their own a55e5 while they can't comprehend what even needs to be done to meet fundamental business goals. They're having fun expending useless no talent employees on menial tasks who can't even do the basic fundamentals of what their jobs require. We have a ton of complex projects, and most people with any real skill are already gone. I just sit around laughing at their stupidity. Easy money in this economy until they RIF or Fire. I've never worked with more clueless people in my life. There's no one to hold these people accountable either because there are missing VP roles now to whom these people would be held accountable by, but they keep rotating them in and out and bringing new people in that its pointless and it's at the hands of the C Suite levels anyways. They've ran this company into the ground with no plan. The pay is poor but sustainable, but if it was a matter of having to go into the office and see any of these people any day of the week, it would be unsustainable or would probably get hauled off after strangling these id--ts.

@OP Now that we've outsourced so many roles to partners/vendors (Cognizant, Zensar), it's a perfect opportunity for the Csuite to bring in a buddy for this role. We're saving so much by not paying those salaries... SMH
