Instead, I'm free. First time I've ever quit a job without a backup plan, but I was so done working three jobs for the pay of one. I feel lighter already.

ER? I hear anyone who is laid off after 5 years of service gets $1M on the 19th in RTP! People used to say these things here so they must be true! /s
Everyone I knew who took the first ER on a Friday went to work at a competitor the following Monday, meaning Cisco paid a year's salary and benefits like extended healthcare to have people who were the most able to move on compete against rather than for Cisco. I'd bet all the recent talk of PIPs over layoffs suggests Cisco doesn't even want to pay that much.

some of us with 25 years cant retire yet, why should we when we can do everyones job in our sleep, I take three calls a day and do more than half the team. My manager is useless and VPs just walk around in tight shirts and gloat, really sad, but what do I care, free health care and good pay, yeah Ill look the other way for a bit longer , sooner or later the id--ts running this show will be outed and new ones will start all over again.
@bn nope ER will not be offered, please do not induce false hope on poor retires ... any LR over 25 year service is worth more that just quitting ..
@bb Strong rumors "selectve" ER will be offerd in Nov. Since you've been here >25 years I'm guessing your past rule of 70.
