Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The astounding inadvertent hypocrisy of our leadership

We just had the marketing town hall where Kellyn blathered on and on about how great everything was, how much everyone told her they loved the latest market based BS and how we should do those surveys ASAP.

Then she “interviewed” the new VP of digital who moved from Utah to Dallas. Nice enough guy but he mentioned how awful the traffic is in Dallas. Wouldn’t even notice it most of the time but I thought we worked for a company that provides fantastic connectivity services that allow you to collaborate without having to sit in traffic every day. Kellyn and co. sm--k you over the head with this connection cr-p all the time, so you would think we would I don’t know, live that purpose?

It shouldn’t by now, but the hypocrisy of our leaders just never ceases to amaze me. How they can continually sing the praises of products, services and messages they clearly don’t believe in and keep a straight face is quite a feat.

fabricate some market-based cultural argument that you get from your buddy CEO's in the board of directors — just plausible enough to survive scrutiny in a court of law, and moral enough that you can look your daughter in the eye when she eventually asks, “Daddy, why do they hate you so much at work?”

Want to ki-l productivity? Enforce a 5-day RTO policy.

The tradeoffs? Forced relocation, fewer severance packages, more pension-eligible retirements, and a higher quit rate.

Traffic is very scary commuting from frisco with my student driver sign on my Tesla.

@az the ridiculousness of beileving any poster here can get IP or MAC addresses from a layoff.com post is laughable. Get back to work.

@ay You still don’t get it. RTO was never required because of employees. It was required to give the company cover for a mass layoff with Project Pack Your Bags or Get Out.

It was also required to soothe Stankey’s massive ego and that of others in leadership. Everything else is just corporatespeak BS, especially the cr-p about productivity and collaboration.

@ay An absolutely correct analysis about our executive officers!

The Pro-RTO comments all over this page are all coming from the same one person. It’s the same IP and MAC address each time. We know who you are.

Very strange that AT&T is one of the very few enterprises with an employee base so lazy, so ill-motivated, so blatantly non-productive, that a 5-day RTO was required.

Most other corporations manage with something less draconian. Some even remain viable with 100% remote. I wonder why...

And not a one of these chronic WFH abusers had any management chain above them? No one to assess progress, set priorities, distribute work, provide consequences, nothing? All these employees hired in, not assigned to a team and just left to set their own agendas day in, day out?

Seems like the type of pigshit that dimwitted bootlickers would say. Smells that way as well. Try a little harder to be believable next time...

"Leadership believes in the products. Metrics just showed a majority of employees were abusing WFH and needed to be reigned in. This led to 5-day RTO."

100% on point. Do these people not understand how easy it is to track the usage on their company devices? Massive unexplainable gaps in activity by enough employees led to RTO
