OP mentioned that there are competent managers below the director who could run the security response more smoothly on their own, and you immediately started accusing the managers in India and Singapore; does that mean you think they are the most competent managers within security response?
Entire security response team is mediocre specially the managers in India and Singapore, just sitting there waiting for an opportunity to lead the team if higher up positions are made redundant and cutting down engineers instead of taking a stand. They do not understand cybersecurity of current era and live in their own little bubble of Symantec golden days. All good architects and engineers are gone and were brilliant colleagues, the left overs are only cheap resources. Everyone here is enjoying resting and vesting as long as they can waiting for redundancy to collect severance. Only a few engineers are facing the load of backlog while others enjoy their coffee tea and snacks strolling outside the office. I have seen it all, I wish they just let me go this time instead of pushing me to resign and give me my money, this place is toxic.
