EDA business will be hard hit by AI, you will see similar scale job cut in Cadence and Mentor Graphics (under Siemens), and even worse is that entire EDA business will no more need so many R & D engineers, 70% + jobs will be gone.

Synopsys, the Sunnyvale-based maker of software used to design and test computer chips, filed a separate notice Monday saying it plans to permanently eliminate 128 jobs from its Sunnyvale campus on Dec. 16.
The Synopsys cuts span dozens of job classifications, with a heavy concentration in engineering and research and development.
The cuts come as Synopsys is carrying out a broader restructuring following its acquisition of engineering software company Ansys.
