VCU Health's environmental services contractor, Crothall Healthcare, is set to lay off 545 employees. This action is a direct result of VCU Health selecting a new provider for these services. The transition to HHS Environmental Services will take effect on November 1st. Crothall expects most affected employees may have an opportunity to continue their employment with the new contractor. VCU Health stated the change is part of a regular evaluation and competitive sourcing process.
