Does Diversity & Inclusion policies apply to those of us who are 60+? Are the older employees protected or is ageism not really a “category” to protect at CVX? Asking for a friend.

Yep, the have the 60+ crowd in their sights at all times. Good news is there is life beyond Chevron. I don’t miss all of the meaningless corp bs having been gone a year now. You won’t see “I wish I had spent more time at work “ from me. Cherish your time with family and friends while you can.

Most people at or near retirement age (including older millennials in our 40's) don't base retirement time on other people's thoughts and opinions about whether or not we have saved enough or should be getting out of the workforce. Especially posts on anti-work, anti-corporate, anti-capitalism sites. It's not a factor at all. Is that a thing now?
And at Chevron, many have easily saved enough to retire early. Do the math.

It is true that circumstances for every "named generation" has differed. The challenges different, the opportunities different.

@fr, NO, not at all. With all due respect no one "needs" to retire simply because you think they do, that's your opinion. There are plenty of EXTREMELY financially stable 60+ (and 50+) year old employees that would rather remain employed for so many reasons there's not enough space and time to discuss here. It has very little to do with financial stability if you are a 50+, 60+ person who has had a long career in O&G., not just CVX. You will learn when you get there and have won the game, son.

Honestly, if you're 60s and have spent your whole career at Chevron making 100k+ your whole career, you need to retire. Yall had the means and the length of time to save enough to be in a good spot, financially, long before now. If you're not in a good financial position at this point then you're just financially illiterate and irresponsible and I have zero empathy for you.

What the fu-k are you still working past the age of 60 for? Under the rule of 55 you can tap your 401(k) the year you turn 55. Your pension will not get any larger past age 60.

@bw, Yes, makes sense, ol farts were way different. they don't deserve anything. Ol farts showed up and worked and got things done. They didn't stay home and whine all day on social media. They must have all been real stupid to not be able to play and scam the system like people do now, lol.
