I've learnt play the game. I was expelled from the company in the beginning of this year. Invested my part of my severance back... (As I invested before), now collecting extra money from this company.
Let's prove a point, this is a layoff site. But this doesn't need to be a deep web sea full of rage. Play the game... Jobs end, not your life
If you look at the results, numbers are great.
But, seeing that this is a layoff site, there are a few things that are bad for the employee.
Dell has already incurred severance expense, and management is explicitly saying it cannot reasonably estimate future severance expense. This doesn't mean impending layoffs but this isn't very good.
Dell specifically lists its ability to implement its “cost efficiency plans”. The results are great! Why employ "cost efficiency plans"? It seems like they are restructuring and optimizing the business. No big revelation but keep this in mind.
Dell is generating enormous growth with a relatively small operating expense growth. It's saying, Dell can grow dramatically without growing the workforce/expense base proportionally. That's excellent for shareholders. But it isn't necessarily excellent for employees, particularly roles that management believes can be consolidated, automated, centralized or eliminated.
You can't deny the results. But, I don't think it is good for the employee.
