They are required to keep them open due to bad leasing agreements made pre-Eddie. Our guy is still battling with the mistakes made by previous leadership.
Becoming just the Kenmore brand management company could have been a reasonable future for Sears, but then why keep the five retail Sears stores open?

Wrong. What he did was literally the only thing that could be done to restore the company to profitability. He did exactly as he promised.

Eddie ‘managed’ the company into Bankruptcy and ‘emerged’ , that’s a condition of bankruptcy law. (No skill or expertise required)

Absolutely wrong. Eddie took over a bankrupt Sears that was not profitable. The company is now profitable again. He did this by cutting dead weight.

Smart??? Transformation??? I'm no hater (couldn't care less), but selling online and through other retailers has been a common retail business strategy for a long time now. Nice that he caught on. How else could he sell Kenmore with no brick & mortar stores left anyway??? Didn't he try to sell off the Kenmore name around the time he sold Craftsman? Hopefully Kenmore won't get run into the ground by becoming some poor quality product. Quality anything has never been his strongpoint.
