@d9 Ever since the founders "handed over", this has been the Qualcomm way. Anyone remember previous projects? Nomad, Qhealth, Mirasol, Mediaflo, Gobi and the most important one Brew? Inept leadership "managing" high caliber engineers. Every one of them led to failure. I remember one particular instance where Qhealth hired Ivy League PhD's and paid them $250 - $300k sign-on. They were asked to report to a PgM and Director "insiders". The PhD's quit right after their sign-on duration completed. But the most egregious is the BREW. Anyone know any stories?

That doesn't invalidate his business acumen, but it does create a noticeable asymmetry in technical depth between him and his direct reports—one that could surface when high-stakes architectural decisions are on the table.
