So how long until all remote positions are gone now that SM is in charge?

@ef —they can change the terms of your employment anytime they want to. Unless you have a signed contract (which is NOT the same as a job offer letter stating it’s a remote position) or you are covered by a union agreement with that stated specifically or if you are under an ada accommodation that you have to work remote— you are at their mercy. Simple terms-you have ZERO say unless it’s one of those situations. Your consent matters not. They have the power. All of it. And for someone to refuse is grounds for termination. I know that’s not what you want to hear but it is the truth. And Sam Mehta wants everyone in an office. Wait and see.
@ef It su-ks but other companies have done just that. With at will employment you won’t win that argument.
How can they order fully remote employees into the office who have been working this way for a number of years. It would defined as an major unwanted change to the jobs terms without consent
@ab Mehtaverse philosophy says just can all the remotes and figure it out later.
Going to take time to replace all people that are not near an office but my gut feeling is that it’s coming.
Which industries are safe from incessant bootlickers like you?
@a1 depending on what you do there’s more out there than you’d expect. But it may take some time to get into. Took me about 4 months. I did leave Defense, though there are definitely roles available especially if you’re in something like analytics
change to different industry if thats what you want.. A&D is not doing it anymore
Not many employers offer hybrid-remote. You might as well look for a new job than be a victim waiting for your turn as RTO.
