The pure toxicity of your coworkers, driven by a rebellion from poor management decisions, are like a black cloud that will infect every interaction you have of every day.

You will start with optimism and enthusiasm for your new role, its prospects and your aspirations. They will be wiped out in a month, if not sooner, and you’ll be as bitter and turn as toxic as your coworkers before you have any idea it’s happening.

At some point in your future you’ll wonder how you ever let a group of people, a place or your manager push you there. If you’re lucky, you’ll get up and leave to get your life back.

“In CS/SPs ideal world, there would be a few hundred elites in the ivory tower in NYC, zero US employees, tons of automation, and a few thousand employees overseas.”

Spot on. It would be funny if it weren’t true and sad.

I can't wait for that next survey. Do they give a sh-t what we think? No, but it will feel good to annihilate them in the survey all the same. Perfect marks for racial issues (anything else just means more BS for the plebes while the execs hire their friends), and the lowest possible rating for everything else. Damn their eyes for destroying this company.

Everything flows top down, but we'll make you think you have a voice (team member survey, Innovation Club, etc).

If you are a performer, be prepared to do a majority of work for your team, aspiring to get <2% merit a year.

You will be treated like a child at day care in all aspects aside from performance, they don’t care about business execution in the slightest. If you are a top performer, avoid this company at all cost.

Leadership is useless, transient, and outcasts from better firms where they could not make the cut.

H-1b program

American education system always fails us, there is always labor shortage and need more young H-1b visa workers.

My thoughts exactly. Back in the day people generally felt appreciated by the company also, as opposed to now where we hear nothing from the top but lies, how horrible and racist we are and all the other BS. Meanwhile behind the scenes they work to displace us all. In CS/SPs ideal world, there would be a few hundred elites in the ivory tower in NYC, zero US employees, tons of automation, and a few thousand employees overseas.

WF has changed. Once this was a company that people aspired to join. When I joined in the 1990's people WANTED to come here. I was proud to finally "get on at Wells".

It has changed. Badly.

I wish I knew I would end up working there when I started with another bank.

Different decisions might have been made.

Be prepared to be threatened every day about keeping your job. Then be prepared for the mass layoffs that happen continuously. Be prepared that you are embarrassed by the massive number of billion dollar lawsuits paid out. Be prepared to work with the worst management hired to abuse employees. Then question why you would work for such a place.

Silo'ng responsibilities to such a degree that you are essentially getting a demotion despite a job title that would suggest otherwise.
