Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

FSA Robbery

If you have FSA (flexible spending account) and an HRA (health reimbursement account), late last year WF changed policy that prevents anyone from using any FSA funds until the HRA is completely depleted. HRA has zero expiration and Carrie’s from year to year while FSA expires March of each new year. The $ that are not used in FSA go back to WF.

All very interesting.

I think our brain surgeons in HR go out of their way to keep changing it up and to make everything much more complicated than it needs to be in order to ensure job security for themselves.

I don’t know any one who’s company makes them jump through the ridiculous hoops that we have to.

FYI Glasses and contacts are HRA-eligible vision expenses, so if WFC does not allow that, I think we should flood them with complaints.

I just bought stuff from FSA store in February because I hadn't used my 2022 FSA funds, and I still have HRA funds. I filed for reimbursement and got reimbursed in 2 days.

there are different qualification for each. Look at the details. For example, glasses or contacts cannot go against HRA only FSA and there are many others too.

The money spent to create this ruse of healthcare could actually be spent on REAL healthcare.

Rally does what exactly? Delay the company payment to the donut hole disguised as providing health advice.

Or you could get a normal health plan that doesn't require the smoke and mirrors accounts to make the plan seem like a better value.

Not entirely correct. If you use your Health Equity card - yes, funds will come out of HRA first. If you pay out of pocket and then submit the receipt, you can request to be paid from your FSA account.

Forget FSA, the real robbery are increased premiums / copays / deductibles / No ER coverage until deductible met / routine lab work outside of biometrics not covered.

Decreased HRA funds provided by Rally. Etc.

You can absolutely use your FSA before HRA funds are depleted, they just made it harder. You have to pay out of pocket then submit a Pay Me Back claim out of your FSA with the receipt and it will then come out of your FSA and not the HRA.
