What's the most unprofessional/unethical thing a manager or coworker at WF has done to you?

Wells Fargo wants to foreclose on 84 and 66 year old, my response was be met with a $500,000 property damage and $25,000,000 personal injury case. Pending, but got their attention. Now who would want a case like that to collect a percentage? Lawyers?

Had a coworker that I’m pretty sure was sleeping with my two up manager constantly report to him that I wasn’t following such and such procedure or doing things the way she wanted. She wasn’t my manager, just a peer. It would end up in a call with the 2 up my manager and me. After the first one I started pushing back HARD with facts and documentation in a way that left no room for the two up to side with her. Thankfully my manager got sick of her too and arranged a transfer to another part of the team where the turnover rapidly increased as soon as she joined the team.

She also repeatedly scheduled huge team wide meetings to try to boss everyone around and then would just not show. Once, maybe but it happened at least three times.

Two up manager kept promoting her anyway. The Wells Fargo way

I was asked “What education or certification do you have that makes you think you can apply for this job” at the start of a interview by my skip level manager.

Asked my manager for FMLA to spend time with my mother who was under hospice care. With a straight face, manager told me I should just take two weeks PTO instead. After 34 years with Wachovia/Wells Fargo I waited two weeks then retired. I filed a complaint with HR. Had an HR interview that went no where. I was able to spend a few months with my mother before she passed away (this occurred in 2022). Not a single manager tried to do anything to find a way to retain me either. I knew I made the right decision. All the leadership I dealt with and my direct manager are very nice, not mean spirited just defeated, beat up and looking out for their own survival.

While in a conference room, Boss took my car keys off desk & “borrowed” car for an errand.

I've had a couple of mgrs do some crazy sh*t!! So, other than my current mgr pontificating in every meeting.....years ago when I was an admin, mgr tasked me with preparing his expense report....he had multiple lunches that he documented I was with him.. I confronted him, told him I was going to report him to HR. which I eventually did when he asked if I had any plans to have a baby as he didn't want to lose another admin for 6 months.. I told him "you can't ask me that" and he started to cry his was so scared!

many years ago we had someone in our department in one of those "business process" titles who was basically a do-nothing Joe Bag o'Donuts that reported directly to our VP. Said person basically did nothing, got caught watching po-n on their work computer multiple times, and was a habitual leave of absence abuser. They would come back to work for a month, always walk around with a stack of flow-charts, schedule a bunch of meetings to raise frivolous process issues which would never go anywhere. This went on for 4-5 years before they were finally hit in a mass layoff.

My manager came to a Skype meeting drunk. He proceeded to yell at me and devalue my work in front of the whole team. People were shocked to what was happening because what he was saying was absurd. Lucky for him I’m an understanding person and know compounded stress can get the best of you. He isn’t at all like that normally. We had a private conversation the next day. I told him if he ever did that to me again I’d go to HR.

I had a friend years ago who was an EA to a Director. The Director attended classes to complete his Masters program but he would ask her to do his homework from time to time and she had his sign on password to draft emails, approve stuff, etc while he was away in class. Not sure why since there are proxy access available to approve and you can write emails on behalf of but she must have been doing other things as him.

All that trust yet she complained he was still only gave her 4s during reviews.

Using RTO to convince good people to leave and save severance costs so millionaires could protect their bonuses.

After building a team of good developers and making sure they kept their skills up to date and relevant, a higher level manager with out-dated technical skills and no knowledge at all about modern systems took all my best ones for his own personal project.

Where do I begin? When I worked in the branch, one of my managers gave us his password to do overrides on the teller system when he was running late. Same manager was also giving life advice to some male tellers in the back room: “You gotta hit the p—— while it’s fresh and tight.” Took a year for him to finally get fired after many escalations and complaints.

Another manager yelled at me on a conference call for not hitting sales goals for the day. This was my first day back after bereavement when my mom passed away.

I have many a tale to tell, but these stand out as the worst.
