Some Layoffs of the right people would be a good thing. Unfortunately, we have top level people quitting, talented new people not wanting to come here in the first place, and excessive nepotism in the executive ranks.
Want to totally turn WF around...? Do a one-time voluntary severance, and get rid of the people who don't want to be here. Then hire new people based on their skills, not on who they know or where they worked for before. Enough with the JPM hires!
It's a company of 275k people. A company that is in Financial Services. And we are in a time of hyperinflation. It would not matter who sits in the CEO seat. Layoffs for a company this big in this industry in this environment is inevitable. Hard to blame Charlie for that.
There are things other actions that Charlie is taking that is costing jobs for sure. I'm just not holding him accountable for the broader mess he is trying to wade through.
Normal attrition and culling is expected. But this stuff is where you’re at the point of not caring because either you, a collaborator, the driver or he beneficiary of whatever it is you’re working on will be gone.

Chuckles wants out of the mortgage business. He's said in in townhalls, it has been reported in the news. I'm sorry for people who were laid off, but what were you expecting? Also ironic this week Wells lost 1.5 billions in the sector Chuckles wants to grow.
Processors and underwriters and closers unfortunately were subject to layoffs each time the market turned, but Laying off sales people in mortgage (HMCs and PMBs) was unheard of. Brave new world.
I’m relatively new to wells. The fear of layoffs has been at every company I’ve worked at. You’re lucky you had a time without the chronic stress.
You seem upset. Why don't you quit so there is one less layoff to do?
Yes. For the first several years I worked here there was absolutely zero talk of layoffs, and it was great. I'm sure a few were laid off here and there, but it was very uncommon and not something people really feared.
its been steady and constant for two years now. So grinding. Should be grounds for class action suit for the stress of it all, constant agony.
Was it really better when layoffs and layoff rumors weren't happening? Just saying.
