I've been laid off several times in my career. Every single time it was scary, but also every single time it's turned out for the better for me.

If you're young and have a career ahead of you and can see that your employer is having "issues", then jump ship.

If you're old and your career is mostly behind you, hold fast and hope for a layoff with severance.

What frustrates me is that over the last two months I’ve seen dozens of IT jobs (or more) posted on the WF Jobs Board in India.

Once again, the date of the 23rd was a bunch of BS. Granted, that date is not upon us, but what about yesterday? This site doesn't know jack when it REALY comes to layoffs. I have tracked teamwork's for years, have a nice little spreadsheet and it's around 1700 per month. 95% of those being laid off have no clue this site exists. There are no mass layoffs, employees have been culled for the past 2.5 years day in and day out.

Oh come on ... Why all the questions. You all know you will be laid off from Wells Fargo, probably sooner than later. It is not the "end of the world". Better times to come for you after Wells Fargo layoff. You shall see.

Just had our last-minute mtg. Leader was axed and my manager said his D1s and most of their teams are getting laid off in next 10 days.

The axe is swinging. Hearing 10K getting hit this round. Great time during deep recession to try and find job in vulnerable market,

Thanks, WF!

I got laid off last month and I honestly don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason to these layoffs because so many top performers got let go. Wells just needs to get out of the mortgage industry for a while.

I’m really sorry to anyone affected. That really sucks and shouldn’t happen

I was laid off last month and recently found an opportunity outside of Wells. To those laid off, I know it sucks but try to keep your head up. Update your resume and see what else is out there. Better days are ahead for you.

I am not near a hub and I did not get laid off. Majority of my team did get laid off though.

I know of multiple teams that have laid off all employees not in a hub location. If they tell you this doesn't play in to it they are lying.

@pne+1lw0V4LU "They" will ALWAYS tell us that type of information. No exaggeration. Take some of the leadership training available in DevelopYou and you will see the mantras in the education. Why? To keep the herds calm. There is no law against lying to an employee except in the case of defined labor laws (work time, OT, breaks, discrimination, etc) so it is in the organizations best interests to be vague or provide patently false information in situations like this. Its how our brains work, we're told X so X makes us feel comfortable. Keeps the others that are in a similar position complacent.

WFH is always at risk but we were told that it was NOT a deciding factor in who got the axe.

To the people who got an email, are you within commuting distance of the office? I previously read people not within commuting distance were at risk of getting laid off

Pull the rug already. Not knowing anything is worse than the layoff itself.
