Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is it just me…

Or does there seem to be an increase in people taking leaves? Most I am hearing about seem to be mental health related. Multiple members of my team at one time. You would think this would send a message….

I know that there were about three or more woman in the area that I worked a long time ago that would take leave repeatedly. The one woman actually did something to her thumb (yeah, right) and sat around doing nothing for two years while WF paid her for doing nothing. Now, her friend and cohort is doing the same thing. I think she is going on almost a year now sitting around doing nothing (well, raising that vodka bottle) while WF pays her. This woman had repeatedly (every year or so) gone on leave for various "ailments". One was a broken elbow (supposedly), but she could still go ziplining!! LOL!

I think WF should wake up and maybe save some money by just getting rid of these scammers, instead of laying off good people that are hard workers. WTH?

The SS compliance hit squads constantly on the look out is driving IT insane.

This and Changing policy daily along with ongoing seemingly nonstop threats of layoffs adds up to the problems most rank and file face.

It’s sad that work use to be my haven for stress now work is my stressor. It’s the morale and constant changes of management and teams. I use to love Wells Fargo but it’s so different now.

It isn't just wells fargo. it's been pretty thoroughly documented that in the general population that anxiety and related mental health issues are at an all time high.

My coworker went on leave with a parent dx with two different types of cancers to fight. Some of you are such losers, I swear.

honestly, I should've taken a mental health leave while at wells ... instead I got stuck holding the baton for all the ones that did and never had an end date to come back. I took my own by gtfo

LMAO the post about "gaming the system". That's the core business model at WF

Yes, people are dropping like flies. The toxicity of the environment coupled with spineless middle management has led to this.

Some of them are legit disability, and they sprouted up "suddenly and unexpectedly" in 2021 after taking something that the executives "strongly suggested" they take.

Yes, it's horrible, and CS and his tool SP are laughing all the way to the bank about it.

One can never expect organizations that are the source of emotional distress to have the resources or willingness to resolve emotional distress.

If the relationship becomes too toxic, staying in the relationship is not the best option.

So what? They don't care about anyone's feelings or mental health. Get the job done. That's it!

My teams through the years have always had a large number of employees on mental health leaves. Yes, some are gaming the system, but a large number if us keep trying to power through, at the expense of our own physical and mental health. It’s the ongoing negative change around here - it never gets better, only worse. Good managers and colleagues can’t make up for continual poor leadership decisions. It’s always felt like leadership actively hates the workers.

I see dead people, but can't get an approved LOA. :(

Completely agree. Most of the people I’ve noticed doing it were doing similar things prior to the pandemic, although I have seen an uptick in others going out on extended leaves for “unspecified” reasons or being granted WFH accommodations due to some debilitating “ailment” I don’t want to seem unsympathetic, and I know we all hate RTO, but gaming the system doesn’t help and could eventually hurt all of our s later on.🤷🏻
