Yes or no? I’m curious how many people work here and keep their money here.

Fuuuuuuuck no
OMG no.
Moved all of our accounts to a credit union after the 2008 housing crash.
Didn't want my money to be used by a criminal org then, don't want it used by a criminal org now.
Also, way better service and options from my local CU.
No way.
Many years ago, I had my home mortgage with Commerce Bank. I also had my employer's pay check direct deposited in my Commerce checking account. My credit history was perfect. Unfortunately, when I was laid off and my employer pay checks stopped hitting my checking account (two consecutive periods), Commerce bank sold off my mortgage to another lender. Commerce held that mortgage for a very long time before dumping it.
I will never be that stupid again!
No. It’s never a good idea to bank where you actually work have your paycheck sent to another bank it’s much safer from prying eyes.
Nope. Local credit union. Wells Fargo does not support the US nor the local economies.
Why are people holding multiple similar accounts at different institutions just to chase rates/ancillary benefits? Pick one, be a whale and get everything you want, done and done.
If anyone banks with their employer they haven’t learned to not sh!t where they eat. Scandals or pure angels it’s a hard no commingling like that. Even with all legalities and protections there is no reason to put all your eggs in one basket and exposure yourself to that much risk.
Duh! Of course not! I use my local Credit Union.
Yes, no problems. Actually liked that we could get free cashier's checks, wiring, discount on foreign exchange, brokerage accounts, and so forth.
I have many other accounts at other banks/companies for other reasons, high yield savings, locations, etc. Really disappointed in US Bank that charged me $10 for a cashier's check recently.
Yes. Going back to Wachovia. No problems in 25 years
Yes. WF has lots of locations and sometimes you need to get coins/cash or deposit a large check.
It would be great if all yes/no questions like this could have more context from the poster.
What are you really looking for in replies?
Are you doing some sort of research project and need data?
Are you in marketing looking for some raw personal feedback to help improve things at the bank?
Is this bait, to drum up more negativity on things already gone over ad nauseam?
Do you even work at WF?
Are you looking for online solidarity?
What's your personal connection to WF?
Even if not intended, this question is a softball toss for revealing nothing helpful.
There are plenty of WF customers who are content and there are those who will bounce from bank to bank for whatever reason. Negative emotions are valid but this site is simply not a reliable source of information to make decisions on whether to bank with WF or not by reading the replies here.
Just wishing a little more context to understand how to reply appropriately.
Posters are commanding our attention, the least they can do is lead us down a path with a little depth and direction.
This matters a ton online, especially with everyone being anonymous.
I have never had a Wells Fargo account. My mother and daughter just closed there Wells Fargo accounts. I bank through a credit union.
No I use a local bank. The mobile app is better, and the one time I called with an issue, the person who answered is also not only in the USA, but in a nearby town.
Yes, no issues. The only issue now is that they closed the only bank in Missouri.
No we used US Bank. I did open the American Excess WellsFargo card. At the time it had a good rewards system and useful for foreign trips. In the process of closing this.
Nope. Opened a small IRA for tax season and was told In order to do so, I also had to open a checking account. Found out later this was false.
Would YOU trust us with your hard-earned $$?? I tell all to drop WF. "We" cannot be trusted.
Just a checking account I had before I worked here for the sake of the ATM network. That is becoming less and less relevant but still comes in handy for now.
I do still have a credit card but don’t use it. Others have better benefits.
Savings and investments are elsewhere, of course.
~100k employee customers
Yes (no issues) also have acs elsewhere
I keep my checking here, but savings are elsewhere paying at least 100 times higher interest rate than behind-the-times Wells Fargo.
No. I use US Bank.
If the purpose of this thread is to stick it to Wells' executives that employees don't bank here... Guess what? They don't care. You're an employee, they already know how broke you are. They have no envy of wherever else you've chosen to bank.
(Not trying to be harsh. Just having more of an honesty day than a politeness day.)
Nope. New emp in 2004....got a checking and WF charged me a fee for checking my account balance at a non-WF ATM.
Instantly closed the account and moved to a credit union.
I opened my first WF account in 1985. I did nearly all my banking with them until I saw the bank scramble for dear life after the new account scandal broke. I moved all but a WF CC on which I get the employee discount rate.
New bank is superior in every way.
NEVER
Nope. Too expensive. I’m at a local bank.
I was told 20+ years ago by a friend in HR not to have an account with the company you work for. She said it makes it messy, and likened it to the separation between “church and state.”
No. The rates are terrible compared to JPMC, etc. Why should I pay a premium to do business with my employer? I should be getting a discount, if anything.
Yep. I know people who can help if I have problems. But I don’t think the service or expertise is up to par by any means. If I had no connections internally, I would leave. Probably a regional bank because I think they are more integrated with my community and would likely provide better service.
Yes, but I keep my savings and investment $ elsewhere.
Never s**t where you eat.
Yes but also have accounts at Chase, Bofa.
Better service at Chase and Bofa
NO
