So rumors are going around that the 1010 N St Marys office is closing. The main customer service departments there have a lot of changes. Credit and collections are having calls routed to other centers and attendance is horrible. Channel support has e time every day and is very slow, Mexico is already taking some of their chats. Retention is one of the absolute worst in attendance in their organization, they have so many grievances from call routing to cobc violations and they just cut their hours to be off by 6pm and closed weekends I believe. Tier 2 tech support has bad attendance and calls are already getting routed overseas to Slovakia or some country out there. Only departments that I know is profitable is the In Home Experts but they don't need a large building to report to. Not sure about the premise techs as that is one of the few departments there I don't have contact with. Also the building isn't owned, it's a lease and that is coming up to end very soon. Last but not least we have a horrible union, Geronimo and James don't do a damn thing but sit in the union hall and eat all day. Everytime I go the hall I just see them and all the little stewards just eating and joking around. Last time I was talking to a steward and he told me the company pays them to be off the phone while they do "union work" and they literally do nothing but talk about food and parties. Nice to know that our union dues are going to their bellies and nightlife. At this point just close us already and I'll gladly retire, take my severance package and unemployment benefits for several months

25 year rep and probably only been to the hall twice, get involved and learn the facts, AT&T leases 1010 doesn’t own it, clg is not closed on weekends they will start to close on Sundays soon like years before, the union has saved many jobs but is unable to make everyone happy but like I said before get involved, do you even know when the monthly meetings are…every second Thursday of the month hopefully you will start to attend
Who gets offered e time? They’ve moved a lot of our work to Mexico and most of our group has nothing to do. Id be willing to take some for the endless doctors appointments this place has caused me to need. And yes, I can quit but at my age it’d be hard to find a job and I’d like to retire with the benefits (whatever’s left) I’ve worked for. I want to work and to have enough work, being treated with no respect has taken a toll on morale, health and attendance. Most of my group wants to work, it just keeps getting given away. There is way too much middle management and way too much wasteful, expensive reorg.

It was just a matter of time before at&t deserted SA. To think at&t once headquartered here! The city of San Antonio must feel like they've been hoodwinked big time.

Union can't do much with location shut downs
Not sure why folks want to believe taking e time is what notifies the company that there isn’t enough work. They wouldn’t offer it if they thought there was enough work.
E time is when the company approaches workers and asks them if they want to leave early for the day, non paid... it's usually when the work is limited. Best bet is to NOT take that time, and sit, make them pay you and the headcount!

What you guys seem to forget is a UNION IS just that, YOU AND I... not THEM and they do all the work for me! A union is only as strong as its members... if you are not participating to help it be strong but only going with complaints, that is ON YOU... also, attendance is a HUGE reason the company probably looked elsewhere for workers who'd appreciate actually coming to work! Our union in our REGION BEEN told us to NEVER TAKE E TIME, it sends the message to the company its not enough work for the amount of people they have! Sorry you guys missed the memo.

Can't speak for San Antonio but I'm in a different city and we're going through something similar. We have a building that can seat 500 employees and we have less than 100. Now AT&T owns our building but we been hearing rumors of closure as well. I don't even want to talk about our union because they don't do a single thing for us. I've looked into it and I've read CWA is just a branch of AT&T. Doesn't help that our union president is best friends with the center manager of our department smh
