When Middletown, NJ location going away? Any rumors?

I think you would be amazed at all the at&t facilities in the Northeast. CRE should run a report of all locations, owned, (if any) and leased, then share with rank and file.

They’re completely moving out of the city (Nyc). They’ve already consolidated the Rockefeller building down to a handful of floors and are getting out when the lease ends in Aug., giving everyone passes to We Work.
Wouldn’t be surprised if facilities in NJ close soon thereafter
Everything sounded great till you said close to NYC, what a tragedy for a once great city to live and work in.
- J, is a great state to live in. One of the states with lowest crime rate (yep you heard that right, look it up), farms, nice beaches, close proximity to NYC and the arts and very diverse. The only drawback is it is very very expensive to live there and real-estate prices are one of the highest.
Thought everything up north was already abandoned after they sold and took golden boy to Texas.
If they consolidate to Building A, there are still Labs in buildings B to E that would have to be moved to building A which is not cheap. If they have to relocate lab space, they might move it to Dallas. Not sure whether they would keep A as just office space or not.
Went to NJ about ten years ago. Very surprised to find an at&t facility on every other block. Could not believe my eyes, talk about over saturation! Just unbelievable!
I think the US should get rid of all of New Jersey.
Most of all of the offices in all of the buildings have been cleaned out, phones, desks, chairs, cabinets all tossed. A few folks asked to keep their offices. The IQ bar is only open now by appointment. Limited cafeteria service as with cleaning. The only reason the building exists is to house the labs and servers. It's an outdated albatross, dusty, dirty & musty.
My understanding from corporate facilities management is T only owns Building A in Middletown, they lease the other buildings in the campus. The lease is set to end by 2025 at which point T is likely going to put everyone on Building A. So there's like about a year in these other buildings before you're asked to move to A.
Personally I think if the economy goes to shot over the next 12 months, they'll just shutdown the entire Middletown campus , T has been looking to exit the northeast for a while now.
