I didn't quit, but Charlie harassed me because I believe all lives matter.

the other day I wanted a Dr Pepper and some fiesta chicken strips and the casheir was rude and acting like she miss thing. Then my manger said I was suppose to be answering the phone. We should be able to eat without retaliation and discriminaton.

Damaged for life. My experience at WF was like no other- and not in a good way. That's what happens when you put undeserved, inexperienced people as middle managers. It goes to their head.

@yca+1lGUsWaC “….some verbal abuse…..” YIKES! It’s like saying “he only beats me when he’s drunk”.

I’m not mocking you @yca but it’s clear you’ve been in the toxicity of this place so long you find a degree of it to be normal. It’s not.

I quit too due to being at the end of receiving lots of unprofessional behavior. Managers do not have your back here. My harasser was a long time employee that did it to everyone that was better than her ie: could put her on the layoff list. She's still there. My character was unfairly picked apart/libeled and I have been unable to work in a long time, picking up the pieces.

PLEASE, if you are thinking about coming here to work, these type of experiences and outcomes are not worth it, no matter how much they pay you. It could cost you much more than a paycheck.

@yca+1lGUsWaC Talk about Stockholm Syndrome. You think it’s appropriate for managers, or anyone, to yell at you at work?

Some of you people have turned into beaten dogs. Conditioned by the extremely unprofessional and classless worker class this company tries to pass off as management.

For any company to be successful their workforce has to be treated well. Happy workers are good workers producing their best which attracts customers through superior products and services. It’s called the profit service chain and clearly WF only ever had it from perpetrating fraud.

A coworker slandered me to third parties, IN WRITING, and kept harassing me. Managers put together meetings, slapped her hand, yet she continued to do it. I had NO performance issues and was a high performer. I quit.

I resigned a contract job at WF with a 2 week notice, totally above board. The manager cut me loose that day to make it look like SHE let me go, then she spread false rumors, AND contacted everyone I subsequently worked for to smear me. These are the type of people that succeed at WF. They do it all under the radar too. No sense of endangering someone's livelihood.

Can you elaborate on your experience? Harassment can be kinda broad.

I don't know what you all are going through. We had 9ne team member file multiple frivolous cases with ER, which all are unfounded. Then ER makes your life he-l through their investigation. The manager almost has a guilty verdict until proven innocent.

if your manager yells at you and you don't like it, move on. some verbal abuse does not always equate to harassment. if you feel you have a case then document document document. take notes of all meetings and email them to your company email so there is a digital footprint. you can't rely on HR to help you, they are there for the company .

Define harassment.
I know someone that reviews HR cases and some of the complaints are absolutely silly. Like a comedy.
Of course not all are, which is why I want clarification.

Always remember that HR is there to protect the company and not the employees. I hate the lawsuit mentality of many but in this case its best to just gather evidence and then sue. Too often going to HR allows them to put together a plan to protect the company and it will normally result in you no longer working. I know they say they don't retaliate but you should not believe it, if they can treat our customers with disdain do you think they care about you at all?
Protect yourself.

Manager assigned a project to senior person on the team, let’s call them John. Two others were frustrated with lack of progress, we’ll call them Sally and Jane, as was the manager, we’ll call him Mike.

Mike, Sally and Jane get super mad that John is not making decisions and begin yelling and arguing with him on calls. Manage Mike asks other senior, Mary, to step in to help John. Mary goes to a meeting where Sally and Jane are berating and bullying John like two mean girls and it’s WAY over the top.

Alarmed, Mary tells Mike he needs to step in and not allow Sally and Jane to behave this way. John was not arguing back and, at first, was discussing things calmly until he just went silent. Next call, Manager Mike joins the group. John explains the options he reviewed and the choice he feels is best, clearly explaining all pros and cons.

Manager Mike, Jane and Sally start screaming and arguing at him. About 6 weeks later John isn’t online but it’s around year end holidays with almost no one working. Mary has a meeting scheduled with him but he’s a no-show so she texts Manager Mike. Turns out John had a heart attack the week before and was in the hospital.

Three months later Mary quits. Three weeks after that John, a 20+ year tenured employee quits. Sally transfers internally while Manager Mike and Jane are still on the team, bullying a new set of people.

Manager treated the team together very well. Turns out, 1:1 was an entirely different story! None of us individually said a word because we all thought it was “just us”. Then someone quit and went scorched earth on the way out!

Turned out 3 of 7 of us had opened HR cases for outright verbal abuse. Investigation turned up nothing but no one would admit speaking to them or even mentioned they had been called.

You are not alone, OP, and HR does not seem to care.

I've never been harassed by anyone working at any site not called Hudson Yards.
