True or not that you have to be in office 6 hours for it to count? It was not true for my old building but we did not have a swipe out. Now I’m thinking of moving to a different building closer to me but that building has a swipe out. Does that mean I would need to be there 6 hours?

If you spend ten minutes reviewing the written policy you'll see there is no mandated time to be in office. The policy is vague, I believe intentionally, because one size does not fit all. On day I go into the office I put in about 3.5-5 hours then go home and finish my day.
The more I think about it, the more the very occurrence of this particular debate/speculation makes it clear the pointlessness of a blanket, one-size-fits-all RTO policy.
If a role has any actual business need to be in office, there’s really no reason to wonder about the the time in-office necessary; that should be made evident by the actual duties of the job itself, and failure to spend an adequate amount of time in-office will eventually be reflected in the quality or quantity of that person’s work output.
If an RTO policy (or any policy) has no direct business need, but is mandated by a regulator, government or some other source external to the bank, then there’s no reason to leave the specific requirements obscure. Simply tell everyone exactly what they have to do to meet said mandate to the external entity’s satisfaction, and move on.
So this thread would not exist if there wasn’t a huge chunk of employees for whom 3-days in office is nothing more than a pointless, box-checking exercise.

It’s an hour. This is from my manager. However, I was also told there is conversation about increasing this as well as the number of days in office.
With all the problems here, I imagine we need our team to be focused on the quality of their work, not on deciphering how to game a report. Leadership should be completely transparent about what the expectations are.
I think most managers don’t know what the timing rules are themselves, they just get a report on who needs to be told to come in more and act accordingly, so I bet many are telling their employees 6 hours when asked just to be safe, even though they don’t actually have any clue.
We’ve been explicitly told in our group that the tracking is based both on badge swipes and connecting to the network. So if your office doesn’t have badge out, in all likelihood they can just base your end time off of the last time you’re recorded as connected to a Wells Fargo internet network. So I doubt switching to an office with badge out would make a difference. In terms of hours in office, I’m under the impression their isn’t yet any official blanket policy and expectations vary by group.
I’ve been doing about 3-4 hours when I go in and my manager said “good job” on coming in to the office.

It’s not just badge swipes. You think they don’t know which locations don’t have swipe out? What they do if people tailgate in? What to do when badge system is down!?
It’s badge swipes, location services on your laptops and IP address picked up from wiFi or wired connection. Bringing those things together are pretty simple.
So leave the laptop there. Problem solved, and now I don't have to worry about working at home either. FRTO/FNYC.
Swipe out doesn’t matter. Managers get monthly reports on how long your laptop was connected within the firewall. Log out and they know when you left.
No big talk from me, I resigned the day the bonuse check hit my account. I agree with the comments that RTO is stupid and that is why I left. That is exactly wht they want, thin the head count. I am in a position to leave, so I did.

I just got word today they will be enforcing longer hours to “count” and also looking for more required days. We all talk a big game about leaving if they force the issue, but we are still here. Just sayin.
just word of mouth at this point. unless you have badge in/out would be difficult to determine 6 hours. What if I come in then close my laptop after a few hours to go to a meeting then leave after that? also, I like to swing by my office on Sunday, plug in my computer and leave it then take it. home with me Monday night, 2 days for the lroce of 1
I was told quite some time ago about 6 hours being the minimum required time to count. They said it was measured through a combination of badge swipes and time logged onto the network to cover everyone since not everyone badges in and out.
I was given my score by my manager. It is a rolling period they track, I think it is a 4 week period. A score of 12 meant 4 weeks x 3 days a week. I had a week where I was only in 2 days for some reason, and I received a score of 11. And missing 1 day actually shows up 4 times since it's a rolling period.
Literally just watched a whole group of people leave at 1 PM CST (they all came in at 930 and 1000). Seems like we’re all still doing our own thing based on the direction or lack there of from management. 1 hour? 2 hours? 3? 8? None? It’s all made up toothless BS without enforcement. Otherwise let me work from home. This is just stupid.🤦🏻♂️
Believe you, but it is worrisome in this day and age that Wells Fargo has employees in a building with no swipe out. That seems like a big security issue to potentially let an ill-intentioned employee in the building overnight rummaging through drawers and having unsupervised access to who-knows-what.
I find Wells Fargo has everyone focused on meaningless minutia and worthless projects and data and meetings, supposedly improving compliance and supervision of the bank, when there are big gaping blatant problems which are ignored.
I wouldn’t put it past these dinosaur leaders to start tracking down to the half hour. Control freaks with no redeeming leadership qualities

No, it's 9 hours they are tracking (figures in an hour for lunch). If your building doesn't have swipe out yet, it will soon.
My co-worker is doing the 6 hour day so believe there is some truth to it. We have swipe in and out. It seems like many people leave in the midafternoon.
