RSR/RSU Award Question

I was laid off a few weeks ago, but was awarded shares (according to equateplus) back in 2025. The shares don’t vest until 2028. Do I lose this money or can I pull it out early now that I am displaced? I read the agreement and says something about it will continue to vest as long as I receive severance. This is all so confusing. Am I gonna lose this $ or not?

Displaced or retired = get rsr
Fired for cause or quit = SOL

@a8 Wrong if you are displaced you get it but you cannot take it out early. You have to wait until 2028.

Was let go in 2025 and had RSRs. As the other posted said, they remain and vest as normal. I have 3 more years of awards left, so on top of my one-year severance it’s the gift that keeps on giving.

@a9 Not true. The article only talks about retirement and the period on severance.
OP is unlikely to continue to be on severance in 2028

If you terminate employment prior to a vesting date, you will forfeit any unvested shares. This applies to the 2025 special award.
Bad news: It is GONE.
Good news: It was only $2300

I can only speak for myself - I was laid off a few years ago and my awards continue to sit in the original account and have been vesting each year. I did not lose anything, so you should be ok unless they changed the rules since then. You do lose them if you get fired however. But, follow the above advice and call to confirm.

Call the number in your severance package and ask.
