You do- based on your actions. Did you abandon your job? Ineligible for rehire. Termination for misconduct? Ineligible. Don’t return laptop = Ineligible.

People do come back even after they are laid off.
If you resign and don’t fulfill your “notice period” you are ineligible for rehire. That fits in the bucket of “policy violations” mentioned in this thread.
It’s not actually a decision manager or HR makes - it’s all policy driven and can’t be overridden (marking ineligible, or hiring someone back who is marked ineligible)
@dc typically performance related terminations are rehirable. The decision is made by ER and it stays on your record forever. I've seen employees gone for years and the record is still kept.
If someone is displaced with performance related situation which was completely one sided, are they qualified to get rehired later if situation brings them? How long does it stay on the record in workday? What’s the retention period?
Three primary reasons why someone would be ineligible for rehire:
1.Misconduct
2.They owe the bank money for something
3.A significant policy violation
