Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Financial Crimes / Risk

A way to sc--w their employees more, WF Risk is going to start mandating core hours 6am - 5 pm. This place is turning into an adult day care for salaried employees.

@OP Awesome! If this comes to my role and they try to request for me to come in before 6am or after 5pm going forward, I'll tell them I can't work outside mandated hours.

If they want my flexibility, they better provide it back to me.

We have plenty of people with no kids who come in super early and never speak to others on the team, leave at 2 or 3 and are very unresponsive to anything after that unless they are scheduled to attend meetings. I’m sure leadership loves that. Meanwhile, the people who go pick up kids at 3 and log back in are the most responsive and usually carrying the team in the sense of productivity. If they want set hours, just set them already.

@e9 They'd have to stay later to meet the 8 hr requirement. So seems like working between 11am--8pm would have to be allowed, at least in that context.

That's weird, it doesn't sound like a problem.

@cg problem with that is the people who come in at 11 to "help the west coast" leave at 5, not 8.

@b6 What if you work in one time zone but support people in a different time zone? Like if you're on the East coast and work between 11am--8pm ET so you can help people in the West during their regular business hours.

Baby Beach comes to layoff board to complain.
Baby Beach doesn’t understand they can work 8 hours anytime between 6a and 5p.
Baby Beach is the same Beach who would Beach if they hired a babysitter for 8 hours but they left for the coast after 4 hours.
Baby Beach is still a Beach.

Never been more glad that my group is 24/7. At least we don't have to deal with this particular layer of stupidity.

No it means your 8 hour work day must occur between 6am - 5pm when business need dictates.

I thought compliance already said 9-4? Sounds like they are trying to prevent folks from coming in super early to leave at like say 2 or 3.

That means you have to be in office 3-5pm. This rule is especially made for people who does school pickup between 3-5pm.

Hire a nanny or driver.
